My Web Site is an advertising Site for PC Tools.com I have several different products that will take care of most all your computer needs, including Virus, firewalls,cleans & repairs your registry in a few simple mouse clicks. removal utility that detects, removes and protects your PC
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I am 76 years old and I did not want to become a couch potato so to speak and I have a computer and I am on it most of the time so I wanted something to keep me busy and I was spending a lot of time on the computer and decided I may as well make some money rather than play games and read emails all the time. Besides I can use the extra money, My husband and I are getting up in age and I would like to start Flying where we want to go rather than Drive. I have seven children that I would like to help out as well. Grand Children and Great Grand children. They all need money for College.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first web site was launched around the first of March of 09' and it is this one http://www.easycomputertools.com
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I was on the Internet and computers is the big thing now a days and I ran into PC Tools and after researching their product, I was impressed with their product. and I just thought everyone need these for their computers so I decided to get permission from them and they gave it to me so here I am.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I think my web site is Unique because I have not seen another one like it, all the other sites I've seen are so crowded it's hard to find what you want. Mine is simple and Unique. I like it. I have gotten emails telling me what a great job I did and to keep up the good work.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My Site can be handed down to my children if they want it. My goal is to get some Bills paid up and to be able to take some time off and enjoy my golden years.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
well right now the web site is young. Its going to take some time to get it rolling, and making money. So right now I am spending a lot of time on it but I do expect it to balance out and be successful with it.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Well since I can not see on this screen what I would want to change. I will say this, If I had an unlimited amount of money I would be able to Pay someone to help me and get my site on the first page. Get someone to help me to do more with my Web Site.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes This is an Affiliate Site so I would have no trouble keeping up with it.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I Paid over $2,000.00 Dollars for a course from Tafiti consulting for a course in learning how to put a web site together and I so I am just paying the Interest on my credit card at present till I start making something from this site so I can pay it off. Also Paying for the privileged of getting the site. Having to contact a lawyer and get my llc up. paying the Ok. Tax for registering my Business name in Ok. I didn't know that was coming. I was not told of those expenses when I signed up for the course.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Learning the computer, and how to put the site together,learning about getting Registered on Google, I still haven't figured it out completely. Even getting these Directories is a Big Challenge for me. I have never been a computer person I can send emails, and copy and paste but that was the extent of it. And of course play games on it. and I wasn't too good at that either. lol I am also paying $39.95 a month for as long as I keep the site up and going. So That's another $479.40 for a year I will still have to pay. That's a chellenge.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Well I do get some coaching from my Web Site Company for the rest of the year. and I have gotten a lot of help. So far I am hoping that these Directories will help me to get my site out there where people can see it ... I don't have the money to pay anybody right now to do it, I am looking for some free directories to help me get seen on the web. I sent out emails to everyone on my address list and asked them to include my site address in all their emails. I made bus. cards and I give them out to everyone I talk to.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Yeah,I thought it was going to be a lot easier, But there is soo much to learn. and how to put the site together,and getting these directories working for me it is a lot of reading and time consuming I have a lot to learn. Things I had no idea that I would have to do. it's work. lol Anything I get from this web site I will have earned it believe me.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
like I said earlier the site has been up since March of 09', I will keep it going as long as I possible can. I just hope it starts paying off, I have bills to pay and no money to pay them yet.
