Please give us a short summary of your website?
Grand Blanc Computer Solutions provides Grand Blanc and its surrounding communities (Flint, Burton, Oxford, and Swartz Creek to name a few) with the ability to access top notch in store and at home computer repair well under the high rates of the “Big Business” repair shops.
With the current state of the economy, we understand our customers are price sensitive, which is why Grand Blanc Computer Solutions aims to undercut the bigger nationwide stores.
Grand Blanc Computer Solutions provides affordable computer repair services, in store and at home. We also provide other computer related services including photo repair, VHS to DVD conversion, printing, scanning, and introductory courses to computers.
Grand Blanc Computer Solutions sees each repair as an agreement not between a business and its customers, but between neighbors that wish to create a close and mutually beneficial long-term relationship.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Being a home based business requires a lot of advertising and have a website is one of the most important things I could do to relate with my customers.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The very first website I did was for a friend, about his dog. It was titled, "The Dog Was Here First". :)
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I stuck with the basics, I wanted to keep it as short as possible but still easy to remeber, and although the address ended up being longer than I would have liked, I think it's still pretty easy to recall for the people that live in the area.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We are a 100% focused on customer service.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep improving it, and maybe open a small e-commerce on it.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Still in the starting phases, will let you know if it all pans out. :)
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
More flash and pizzaz.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I really don't think that will be a problem, we are really an area specific website.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
none yet, but there are a LOT of pay to advertise websites out there and it would be really easy to fall into that.
What has been your biggest challenge?
SEO
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Getting listed in as many places as possible.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It really hasn't.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Our new site has been up for only a couple months but we hope it will be around for years to come.
