What inspired you to launch your own website?
Well, we are a COMPUTER repair company. How would that seem to a customer who is not looking for an individual to fix their computer issues, that we are a professional reputable company if we can't even set up our own website ?
Who designed the website ?
We purchased a template and worked around the clock to make it look presentable. It was an "inside" job. Our marketing director and the CEO worked together on it. We are a repair company, not designers but I think we definitely did a good job.
Please give us a short summary of your website?
It is a very clearly designed site with the customer in mind. A portfolio, list of services and a contact us page. Basic and simple, no advertisement, no junk.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our goal is to maintain and improve the site. The sky is the limit.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We definitely saw more visitors to our site after the redesign. The older layout was simple too but the new one is easier on the eye. More Web 2.0 if you like that term.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would probably go for some PPC advertisement on some search engines. Right now we are doing good without it.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
We would probably would have to hire more technicians for on-site support. That is not a problem, we are in the Big Apple.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Time. Time is money and it seems to be there is never enough of both.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I have to say craigslist is our best tool. And it's free you can't beat that.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It is been over a year with the old design and just weeks with the new one. If we don't success with our marketing, just try another method. You can never give up.
