What is your website about?
KlickComputers is the UK's Number 1 online Custom Built PC Store. All our products are made to the highest specification and come with a fantastic warranty. We are primarily aiming for people who are advanced computer users/gamers etc. However we are currently in liasion with a number of suppliers etc to cater more for the general public demand. Any feedback can be delivered through our site.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We launched our website to give our company that 'internet presence' we were not meeting our potential market without the site, now that it is live on the internet, its better for business and better for our customers.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is the companies first website that we have launched.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
our company was called KlickComputers, its a good name, its catchy and it has that 'effect' to it. We are primarily aiming at the UK so we are .co.uk . Also we thought why complicate things and have a different website name and different comany name.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
All our products come with a gaurentee that they are made from the highest quality parts and componenets. Our staff know their industry and pprovide an A* customer service. Unlike many, bigger, competitors we offer that personal touch, we are always updating our site with different products and offers. we aim to please each and every time.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
We want KlickComputers to be as successful as possible. Yes we like the money but also knowing that what started out as a 2 man adventure has turned into something so successful, thats a feeling that is better than any money.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Success only comes from investment of time and money. When we first started, we spent the entire amount of our time holding down a day job and starting our own business. It was very very hard work and a very big strain but perseverance is the only way you will succeed and get what you want out of life.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would expand our site and our company. We would take on more staff and look at opening some more ground offices over the UK.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Most definately! We love a challenge! it was an immense challenge starting the business in the first place! hard work pays off. by putting in the hard work it will just make us more successful.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
We have had quite a few in the passed. when we first started out there was the legal side of everything, everything costs money and a lot of it! web wise though, the thing i personally have struggled with doing for KlickComputers is the SEO side of things. Rather than spend an obscene ammount of money on an SEO Consultant, I Personally am trying to teach myself. its not going to bad, but it is very hardwork!
What has been your biggest challenge?
trying to get the company to actually be successful. This was the hardest of all, generating our customers and traffic etc.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
When we first started out we knew it would be time consuming, however that was an understatement! Its also more enjoyable than i first thought. the self satisfaction when you can see you hard work paying off is definately worth it!
How long will you continue to keep your site up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Perseverance is a key to success. It will be a very long time before we accept that our venture was a dead duck!
