Wizard Computers Interview

By Interviewer at 01/28/09 12:47

Name of your website?

Wizard Computers

Your name?

Andrew Dalton

Your Location (city, etc)

Javea North Costa Blanca

Please give us a short summary of your website?

The site gives information about my computer repair business, which is aimed at both home and business users.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I wanted to make it really easy for people to see what services we can offer, without making it too complicated or techy. I see so many sites which don't really speak english!

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I built my first web site in around 1995, when Netscape navigator ruled and Internet Explorer was just being launched. The site was a personal one which I built to showcase my interests.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Easy, just named it after the business Wizard Computers.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It's got a touch of humour! Not too many sites do that. I also feature some articles that I've written.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep working as long as I enjoy it! I love what I do simple.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I'm a bit like a monkey. I work for peanuts.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I'd create a worldwide mega corporation, make shedloads of money and then retire to Spain and open a small computer repair business.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Absolutely not, I'd have to recruit wage slaves to help me keep up with demand.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

I had a puncture last week.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Chganging the wheel.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Submitting it to as many free directories as I can.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Not at all, it's really what I expected.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It's been running three years now and as long as I'm working it will stay ther.

Do you think you're funny?

Probably not!

What is your website address?

Wizard Computers
