The cookie has recently been baked, and this would be just about seven years after its cooking. The new wireless LAN standard had only recently been approved by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Publicly, on September the fifteenth, the painstaking process had already reached almost a decade old. Up to three hundred megabits per second is where the new wireless internet standard is at.

After going through a bunch of other draft versions, actually dozens of them to be more specific, the standard was finalized and had been approved.
