Microsoft having a Windows application store would indeed be an awesome thing. I could only imagine the amount of applications that would easily be made widely available due to this circumstance.
Microsoft and Macintosh have been at it for years and that definitely did not stop or changer when the iPhone came out, well at least not too much of a change.
Macintosh may be in fear of losing clients at the moment and may also be deciding to keep their applications solely for Apple products.
